Lt. P. Bane (T-28, O-1), Nok Ka Tenh 302

The man was totally fearless -- except where his commanding officer was concerned. He told me once that his sidearm, a .45 automatic, was missing, and he was very reluctant to to tell Colonel Concy. But otherwise? He explained to me that his preferred method for finding enemy troops was trolling for groundfire: "I fly low and slow and straight so they think maybe I'm asleep." One day some poor guy on the ground couldn't resist the temptation, emptying his AK-47 clip -- leaving P. Bane none the worse for wear. P. Bane then swooped in for a closer look and found a large semi-permanent Pathet Lao encampment well concealed under the trees. He ordered up a flight of T-28s from L-39 and bombed the camp. He had cojones grandes for sure.
