Lt. Sodarath
Lt. Sodarath, one of the most experienced pilots in the fighter squadron. He had flown more than 2,000 missions as a T-28 pilot, and at this point he was also flying an O-1 observation aircraft as a forward air controller, using the callsign Nok Ka Tenh 301. He was one of the first RLAF pilots cross-trained as a FAC (the first one in Military Region III), and he was one of the best FACs -- Lao, Hmong, or American -- I ever had the pleasure of working with. My recollection is that although the RLAF wing had stood down for the day on account of Pimai (and many were getting drunk), Sodarath had flown his scheduled FAC mission that morning. He was a very conscientious guy.
