Lt. (or maybe Captain) Liang, an H-34 helicopter pilot, and Naly, our resilient Lao medic. (He had survived an exploding booby trap in his Jeep -- not, as you might expect, the work of enemy sappers, but -- or so I heard -- the work of a jealous rival for some young lady's affections.)
